Situation:

Gabon faces major challenges in maternal and child health, with persistently high rates of maternal and child mortality and a significant number of preterm births. The country carries a heavy burden of infectious diseases, including malaria and Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) such as helminth infections and schistosomiasis, as well as widespread bacterial and viral illnesses.

Situation:

Maternal and child mortality rates in Zambia remain alarmingly high. In the rural Kasenengwa District, a lack of infrastructure, qualified personnel and essential medical equipment hinders access to healthcare. Poverty, long distances, low health awareness and widespread malnutrition further worsen the situation for women and children.

Situation:

In western Tanzania (Rukwa, Katavi, and Kigoma region) more than 5 million people live, 2.8% of whom suffer from severe visual impairment or blindness. Up to 80% of these visual impairments are treatable through education, medication, surgery, or eyeglasses. Improving eye care can significantly enhance the quality of life and employability of many people.
