With the Else Kröner Fresenius Center for Nutritional Medicine in Munich EKFS is funding an institute that works on sustainable forms of nutrition in medicine.
In September 2019 the Else Kröner Fresenius Center for Digital Health at the TU Dresden has been established. The aim of the center is to tap into the potential of digitalisation in medicine in order to improve patient care.
The Else Kröner Fresenius Center for Nephrology Research was created in October 2022. With the establishment of this center at University Hospital Frankfurt, the EKFS is laying the foundation to substantially boost and support kidney research in the Department of Nephrology.
In March 2024 the Else Kröner Fresenius Center for Optogenetic Therapies at the University Medical Center Göttingen (UMG) has been established. The aim of the interdisciplinary research center is to harness the great potential of optogenetics - the control of cellular activity with light using light-sensitive proteins (opsins) - for clinical medicine.
