The Else Kröner-Fresenius Foundation (EKFS) was founded in 1983 by the entrepreneur Else Kröner, née Fernau, and appointed as her sole heir. The non-profit foundation is dedicated to the funding and advancement of medical research, and actively supports humanitarian projects.
