Radiotherapy is a cornerstone of cancer treatment, yet its clinical effectiveness remains limited by damage to healthy tissue. Microbeam Radiation Therapy (MRT) represents a promising approach to overcome this fundamental limitation.

MRT delivers radiation in extremely narrow microbeams on a micrometer scale. Preclinical studies have demonstrated strong tumor control combined with exceptional normal tissue tolerance, resulting in a substantially enlarged therapeutic window.

Within their research projects, the doctoral researchers investigate various aspects of gait disorders across different disease entities, including multiple sclerosis, osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, Alzheimer’s disease, and Parkinson’s disease.
