Else Kröner Fresenius Preis für Medizinische Entwicklungszusammenarbeit 2019
Der Else Kröner Fresenius Preis für Medizinische Entwicklungszusammenarbeit würdigt Projekte, die der Verbesserung der medizinischen Versorgung in Entwicklungsländern dienen.
Der Preis ist mit 100.000 Euro dotiert und honoriert in diesem Jahr Projekte zum Thema Notfall- und Intensivmedizin.

Mit dem diesjährigen Else Kröner Fresenius Preis für Medizinische Entwicklungsarbeit wurde am 22. November das Projekt
„Verbesserung der medizinischen Ausbildung und der Patientenversorgung bei nicht-übertragbaren Krankheiten: Zehn Jahre gesicherter Zugang zu Diagnose und Therapie der Hypertonie, Diabetes, Hypercholesterinämie und/oder Adipositas für Slum-Bewohner von Buenos Aires“
Funding and Supporting an Individual Project
The funding resources are intended to serve to improve medical training and/or patient healthcare in a developing country (in accordance with the OECD DAC list of aid recipient countries). An existing or new project is supposed to be transformed into a multi-year project characterised by sustainability that shall be continued on a self-reliant basis by partners from the project country after funding has ended. The proposed project ought to be associated with the name of the foundation’s founder, Else Kröner.

In 2018, the Else Kröner Fresenius Award for Development Cooperation in Medicine is being presented to the project:
“Improvement of medical training and patient care in the case of non-communicable diseases: 10 years of assured access to diagnosis and therapy for hypertension, diabetes, hypercholesterolaemia and/or obesity in slum residents of Buenos Aires” headed by Project Manager Dr Carina Vetye-Maler, Apotheker ohne Grenzen Deutschland e. V. (“Pharmacists without Borders Germany”)
