Situation:

The UNBROKEN National Rehabilitation Center is a unique place that provides comprehensive qualified medical care for adults and children affected by the ongoing war in Ukraine. It offers reconstructive surgery, orthopedics, and robotic prosthetics. In addition to fitting prostheses, the center is equipped for their manufacturing. It is committed to the physical, psychological, and psychosocial rehabilitation of both injured military personnel and civilians.
 

Situation:

In the areas near the front line in eastern Ukraine there is a high need for emergency medicine. Meanwhile healthcare is scarce. Many healthcare providers have left the area. Healthcare facilities are often destroyed and looted, and there is a lack of medical equipment and medicines.
 

Objectives:

Ensuring the provision of medical care and emergency medical services to conflict-affected populations near the front-line in Donetska oblast.

Situation:

80% of disabled children live in poverty and are more likely to experience healthcare issues.  Cerebral Palsy (CP) is the most common childhood disability affecting development, mobility, communication and functional activities. Children experience stigma and discrimination. Caregivers do not fully understand cerebral palsy, leading to late referral, impacting negatively on children’s life chances.
 

Situation:

After the coup in February 2021 the health system in Myanmar have collapsed due to poor governance, insufficient funding and shortage of health workers. As a result most of the IDPs cross the border to Thailand to seek medical care. The establishment of the Emergency Care Unit at the Mae Tao Clinic will directly benefit IDPS from Myanmar who crossed the border and the refugees who are already in Thailand.
 

Objectives:

Improved emergency care system and services at the Mae Tao Clinic.

Situation:

As a result of the war, an extremely large number of children in Ukraine suffered traumatic experiences and fled their home country. According to UNICEF, children make up half of all war refugees in Ukraine (UNICEF, 2022). As of Dec. 18, 2022, approximately 202,000 children and adolescents from Ukraine were registered at German schools (Kultusministerkonferenz, 2023).Situation: As a result of the war, an extremely large number of children in Ukraine suffered traumatic experiences and fled their home country.

Situation:

Caused by the war in Ukraine, pharmaceutical infrastructure, among other things, is being destroyed and gasoline prices are rising. As a result of the partially interrupted supply chains and the discontinuation of pharmaceutical imports from Russia, vital medicines are often no longer available in sufficient quantities. Many clinics are also experiencing financial bottlenecks, as public funds are flowing into the military instead of into health care.

Situation:

The current war in Ukraine has caused the largest and fastest growing internal displacement crisis worldwide. Due to the fluid and rapidly changing security situation, the need for Gender-Based Violence and Sexual and Reproductive Health services has continued to rise. Multiple forms of violence, such as human trafficking, disproportionately affect women and children in (de-)occupied territories.
