Alzheimer Disease and related forms of dementia, including various forms of frontotemporal dementia, summarized under the term tauopathies, are devastating disorders characterized by progressive loss of cognitive functions. The protein Tau is either causal or a key factor for the disease pathology and clinical progression. There is no cure. We investigate in this project Tau-based strategies to prevent neuronal dysfunction in neuronal cell models, and test novel therapeutic strategies to prevent the mislocalization of the protein Tau, a key aspect in the cellular pathology of tauopathies.
