Funding for a new method in cancer diagnostics
The ForTra gGmbH für Forschungstransfer of the Else Kröner-Fresenius Foundation (ForTra) and the European Research Council (ERC) are now providing funding to further develop the method for clinical patient studies.

State Secretary Dr. Andreas Handschuh and Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Prof. Esther Troost opened the two-day MedTech conference with inspiring greetings in front of around 200 participants. Numerous demonstrations and prototypes of our innovation projects, thematically wide-ranging lectures as well as networking pitches gave the participants a comprehensive insight into medical technology innovations as well as current trends and news from the digital health scene.

Der Schrittzähler im Handy oder der Pulsmesser in der Uhr: Das ist für viele bereits Alltag. Theoretisch ist aber noch viel mehr möglich: Die Spracherkennungssoftware im Handy könnte Rückschlüsse auf Krankheitssymptome geben. Algorithmen könnten dabei unterstützen, Vitaldaten auf Intensivstationen auszuwerten, um zum Beispiel künstlicher Beatmung vorzubeugen. Software könnte riesige Mengen Daten auswerten und sie der Forschung zur Verfügung stellen.
