This project focuses on heart diseases in which two heart valves are simultaneously affected (so-called combined valve defects). These conditions can be challenging to treat, as in some cases treating a single valve is sufficient, while in others both valves require intervention. To support treatment planning, the project aims to develop a computer-based method that can predict the effects of various therapeutic approaches - such as the replacement of one or both valves with a prosthesis - for an individual patient. This will make it possible to determine the optimal treatment strategy prior to the actual procedure and, in the long term, help avoid unnecessary interventions.
