Pancreatic cancer is characterized by a vast heterogeneity. However, independent studies have shown that molecular subgroups have different therapeutic vulnerabilities. Based on this knowledge, we try to develop new therapeutic options for a particularly aggressive subgroup by high-throughput drug screening experiments.

By genetic as well as pharmacological inhibition of subtype-specific molecular nodes, we analyze the molecular mechanisms in different model systems. By using such nodes we try on the one hand to improve the efficacy of known drugs by combinations with newly identified drugs and on the other to replace currently used drugs.
