Psychological centre at the clinic for children in Cherson/Ukraine

Situation:
In 2024 33.000 children of the Cherson region (200 km around Cherson) got a medical treatment in the children´s hospital of Cherson. 2.000 children showed psychological problems. Because of the ongoing war a significant increase in the number of cases is expected for 2025.Therefor it is absolutely crucial to build up a separate department for psychological treatment.
Objectives:
Renovation of existing rooms, set up specific equipment for psychological treatment of children, specific training for the staff.
Indicators:
- Renovation of up to 10 rooms
- Set up of technical equipment like computers, screens, system for video conferencing
- Education of psychlogists, psychiatrists and clinical staff
Measures:
Renovation of existing rooms, set up specific equipment for psychological treatment of children, specific training for the staff.
Sustainability:
- Until today traumatised children only can be treated in the normal ambulance.
- 2024: 2.000 children, 2025: 3.500 expected.
- This is the only Children`s Hospital in the frontline region of Cherson. War continues. US have stopped USAID financing.

The organisation helps children and their families, traumatised by the war.
