Our Work
The Else Kröner-Fresenius-Stiftung views it as its mission to increase knowledge revolving around the causes, diagnosis and therapy of diseases to the benefit of mankind.
The Fresenius Company
The Else Kröner-Fresenius-Stiftung is the healthcare group’s largest shareholder. EKFS holds 27.0 per cent (status quo on 31 December 2025) common shares in Fresenius SE & Co. KGaA stock.

Activities & Statistics
Since its founding, the Else Kröner-Fresenius-Stiftung has donated approximately €800 million for around 3,000 medical research and humanitarian projects.
Purpose of the Foundation
The Else Kröner-Fresenius-Stiftung is dedicated to advancing medical research and to supporting humanitarian aid. The foundation’s purpose is specified in Paragraph 2 of the Else Kröner-Fresenius-Stiftung’s statutes.
