Meningiomas are the most frequent primary tumors of the central nervous system. The typical treatment of nonsurgical resection. The current approach to identify the aggressiveness of a meningioma sample is histological inspection under the microscope. This approach has limitations and may not always adequately reflect the prognosis of individual patients. The project aims at identifying novel, objective molecular markers for precition of the clinical outcome for individual patients. For this purpose, the genetic information on the DNA and the surface of the DNA are investigated. Ultimately, the findings may result in a novel, international classification of meningioma based on molecular markers.
